Well we thought it was our last day in Sanya.....

We went to the airport, we got on our plane, we waited and waited.
And then the captain told us his first officer was vomiting, and that he would keep us posted.
To cut a long story short, tthe 1st officer left in an ambulance and we left in a bus to a very posh hotel in an area of Sanya that Lonely Planet says you go to if "money is not an object".

So now we are booked into a luxury suite, odrering room service.
Ali is running a bath, in the huge bath tub.

We feel really sorry for the co-pilot, but man, this is seeing a very different part of China.

Last day in Sanya.....

Its our last day in Sanya, we head for Hong Kong later tonight.
Its strange, I am looking forward to getting home, but am sad that our trip is coming to and end.
China is defintley a place I want to come back to.

I got sick over the last two days.
Go figure! We have been eating street food all over China, in some very interesting places, and I get sick at a tourist resort where we have been eating in resturants!

Heres some images from the beach today:

Sanya.. the things we have seen on the beach..

We have spent the last three days just lying on the beach.
It has been great to relax!!

We had a great seafood bbq at the youth hostel where we are staying. All you can eat, a bit expensive at $10NZ, but very well worth it! (oh, and you pay tourist prices here for everything, about 3-5 times that on the mainland).

An interesting point is that the locals speak russian, and there are many russian signs around.
Couldnt figure it out for a while, until I noticed there are a lot of Russian tourists here. Seems like it is the place to go for frozen russians! The things you learn.

Also, we have seen a lady pay money to have a guy put a boa constrictor around her neck.
She was none to happy when it started squezzing however. And yes, she was Russian.

When you get tired of the snake, you can have a play with the alligator:

We have also seen a lady wait at least half an hour for some guys to finish their beers, just so she could pick up the empties (you get money for recycling them)

And when it all gets a bit much, you grab your Lonely Planet, and plan your next trip:
